Useful Information We hope that these pages will tell you everything you need to know about the event, bringing your dog to the UK, how to get here, and what veterinary care will be available for your dog, should you need it. If there is anything that we haven’t covered, please do contact us by emailing admin@wac2010.com. Due to GB quarantine laws all dogs entering the UK must comply with the Pet Passport scheme. Hand Equestrian Centre, From M5 Junction 20: Take the Clevedon exit and turn left at the first roundabout (Central Way). At the next roundabout, turn left (towards Kenn & signposted Hand Stadium), go over the river and take your first left into Davis Lane. It is 12 miles (19 km) south west of Bristol Temple Meads railway station on the Bristol to Taunton Line. To get to Yatton, change at Bristol Temple Meads or Weston-super-Mare. For detailed directions from your point of entry into the UK to the Hand Equestrian Centre, use the travel planner facilities on www.rac.co.uk or www.theaa.com. Accommodation Camping The venue has limited space for tents and caravans/motor homes, available only to officials and teams, from Wednesday afternoon to Monday morning. Costs: Tents - £7.50 per night Caravans/Motorhomes (on hard standing) - £10 per night. Electric hook up is also available at a one-of cost of £55 for the duration of your stay. Fresh water and toilets will be provided in the camping areas. Hotels/Bed and Breakfast For a list of local accommodation please click here. Nearest vets: Your dogs’ welfare is of the utmost importance to us. We will have, at the venue, our own veterinary surgeon, Peter van Dongen RCVS, as well as a veterinary nurse. There are also several veterinary surgeries within a five mile radius of the venue. Peter van Dongen has accompanied several UK teams to international competitions so will be able to answer any questions you may have, not only about your dogs’ health, but also the Pet Passport scheme. |
